I'm new to computers and internet, I really need to get this thing going again!!! I tried downloading some programs but of course they were full of ads! This is crazy! Any experts out there that can help me?Thx!

Sounds like you have spyware / adware, it's a common problem these days.
If you downloaded music online or if your homepage keeps changing you can trust that you have spyware.
Don't go and download any old program, that's just stupid.
Get registry fix from registryfix.com (it will scan your computer for free)
then go download No Adware noadware.net. You'll be back up and running at full speed in no time!
